Thomas was born in 1503 (aged 48 when he died in 1551[1]), on 3 June. He may have been born at Over Tabley, where his father's family had lived for hundreds of years.[1] At that time Over Tabley was in Rosthorn parish, Bucklow hundred, Cheshire, England.

He was the eldest son and heir of Piers Daniell of Over-Tabley, esquire, and his wife, Julian Newton.[1] Julian was the daughter of Sir Peter Newton, secretary to the Prince, who had the ward-ship of Piers, 15 Henry VII [1499].[1]

Thomas was the brother of:

  3. Peter Daniell, who was living in 1522;[1]
  4. Elizabeth Daniell, who was married to 1) William Owen and 2) Anthony Shepard;[1] and
  5. Parnel Daniell, who was married to John Bressy of Teerton, Cheshire.[1]

He was the half-brother of six illegitimate siblings:

  1. Margery Daniell, living in 1522;[1]

  6. Humphrey Daniell, living in 1522, whose mother was Anne Brachegirdle.[1]

Thomas' father, Piers, died in 1522 [14 Henry VIII], aged 38.[1] His mother died in 1542 [34 Henry VIII].[1]

In 1521 [13 Henry VIII], Thomas married Margaret Wilbraham.[1] Margaret was the daughter of William Wilbraham of Woodhey, Cheshire, esquire.[1]

Thomas and Margaret had children:

  1. Peter Daniell, son and heir, born 1529, died 9 November 1557, aged 27, married in 1550 [4 Edward VI] Alice, daughter of George Booth of Dunham Massey, esquire;[1]
  2. Thomas Daniell, second son, born 1534, died 1575 aged 41, heir to his brother Peter, married Alice Dutton, died after 1590, daughter of Fouk Dutton of the city of Chester;[1]

  5. Ellen Daniell, who was married to John Massy of Codington, Cheshire, 1553;[1]

Thomas predeceased his wife, dying on 2 June, 1551, aged 48 years.[1] at Over Tabley, Cheshire, England.

Hi profile managers, I notice that there is a son John Daniell (abt.1543-) linked to this profile who isn't listed currently amongst his children. Is there any sources for a son John, or should he be disconnected as a son? Thanks!
