Rice Davis (also Rees Davies), Esq., of Tickenham, Somerset, married three times.[1]
His first wife was Dorothie Rodney.[2]
Dorothie died in 1604.[2]
His second wife was Elizabeth (or Isabel) Ligon, widow of Edward Bassett, Gent. (died 1601/2), daughter of Henry Ligon (or Lygon) and Elizabeth Berkeley, his wife. She and Rees had no children.[1]
His third wife was Mary Pitt.[1]
Rice Davis, Esq., left a will dated 28 August 1638.[1] He died 2 September 1638,[2] and his will was proved 23 April 1639. In it, he requested burial at the chapel of Backwell, Somerset, between his first and second wives.[1]
Estimated Date: Based on his death in 1638[2] and considering life expectancy for men of this time was closer to 60 than 80, he would have been born about 1568 if his age at death was 70.
However, adding "about 1570" as his estimated birth in the datafield triggered a data warning. His father was William Davis, but the profile for William Davis that he is attached to (Davis-27444) is the wrong generation - born 1594, died 1683.
