David Christoffelssen (born 1652), his wife and 4 children died in the Schenectady massacre. It is not known if any children survived to adulthood, but the working theory here (open to discussion) is that Thomas was one of the children who escaped.
"In the massacre of Feb. 9, 1690, [David Christoffelssen] was slain with his wife and four children. His heirs still owned [the property] in 1699". Source of quoted material: A History of Schenectady Patent in the Dutch & English Times (by Prof. Jonathan Pearson & others, 1883). The same Pearson document refers to the property still belonging to "the heirs of David Christophelse" in June 1714.[1]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Thomas by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Thomas:
On behalf of people who are reading through all the comments and wondering about the current state, I just want to say that every profile mentioned here thus far has been merged into Davie-400. Thanks to Bill Dunkley and everyone who works to try to keep things straight.
Davy-110 and Davie-400 are not ready to be merged because: The two profiles have completely different sets of parents. Before we merge them, we need to resolve the conflict. What evidence is there for his parents?
Davie-400 and Davy-110 appear to represent the same person because: The Thomas Davy with 7 children is the definitive version supported by baptism records. The other Thomas Davy (varIous spellings) is based on a family history published in the 1950s without sources.
Davy-110 and Davy-173 do not represent the same person because: Comparison of mother and father does not match up. I do not have time or resources to sort it out at this time.
Comparison of the parents does not line up. Something is out of whack. I am now going to reject this match as I do not have time or facilities to investigate further.
Davy-110 and Davy-173 appear to represent the same person because: Hi Mechelle. These two profiles need to be merged to eliminate the duplicate husband of Catarina. Thanks , Bill
