Leah Demarest married Samuel Demarest at the Reformed Dutch Church in Schraalenburgh, Bergen, New Jersey on 16 September 1732, when she was 25 years old.[4][5][6]
CONFLICT There is a conflict here because one marriage record says they were married 29 September 1742, but also shows 21 August 1742. Another source, Mary Demarest in her book "The Demarest Family...", page 31 and 60 shows marriage date of 16 September 1732, which would sound more accurate, as her first child with Samuel was in December 1733. I have therefore gone with the date of 16 September 1732. (24 Apr 2020, 3:52 pm pdt, Arthur Van Riper.)[5]
Death
Leah Demarest died on 13 September 1781 in Shelby, Kentucky, when she was 67 years old.[2]
Tradition has it that she was killed by Indians near Bullit's Lick as they were going from Harrodsburg.(24 Apr 2020, 4:11pm pdt, Arthur Van Riper.).[7]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Leah by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Leah:
Demarest-883 and DeMaree-84 appear to represent the same person because: Alternate spellings - DeMaree profiles is older and suggests Lea's branch of the family had started using the Demaree spelling before Samuel, who she married, did.
Dearest-2 and Demarest-418 appear to represent the same person because: Spelling of surname different but both Leah's are married to Samuel Demarest, married on same date 16 Sep 1732 . Both born in same location. Problem might be LNAB because she is marrying a Demarest ...
Demarest-83 and Demarest-251 appear to represent the same person because: Lea Demarest is a direct ancestor and I would like to be able to include the information I find in the biography of Leah Demarest.
