Actually, I think the other Margaret should be detached from parents Thomas Dent and Rebecca Wilkinson. I've searched for records for a marriage of Thomas Baker and Margaret Dent and can't locate anything. When I first proposed the merge, I didn't research to see if I could locate records. I'm not related to this family, so was just trying to add information and clean up the lineage. Now that I've spent more time on it, I think the two should be set as rejected matches...
There is also an unproven daughter, Martha who was the wife of Thomas Baker. See http://colonial-settlers-md-va.us/. I think Martha and Margaret are confused and assumed to be the same person.
I've been curious about this marriage because this may be part of my line. The land records are interesting because the notation from the above website indicates that William Dent was the guardian of the orphan children of Martha and Thomas Baker. I found a copy of Thomas Baker's will. It is written in the old style and very hard to read.
Cheryl, can you make the will available, or perhaps provide a link to it, so others could look at it and try to decipher it? Interesting about William Dent being guardian...
Dent-149 and Dent-112 appear to represent the same person because: There is really nothing to say that either birth date is accurate. They are married to different Edmund Howards who also need to be merged. I'd make a merge with a note of the difference in birth dates in the biography. An unmerged match is also a possibility.
