I have seen his birthplace listed as Noailly, Roanne, and Renaison ... all three places are very close together, northwest of Lyon, and I remember seeing somewhere that the parish church in which he was baptised might have been destroyed by fire during the Wars of Religion..

actually, we have no evidence that this is his dob or place, there is no marriage contract nor record naming his parents.

Hi, James; yeah, the record gets pretty darned confused before him. On other sites there are trees confounding him and his father, which would have him die at age 100. I have seen some indication that the extant record of his baptism is a copy from the records of another parish church which subsequently burned.

There are at least three sets of parents listed, this need to be confirmed - 1. the set listed here, 2. Desrosiers--38 (mentioned in LaForest's book) and 3. http://www.francogene.com/genealogie-quebec-genealogy/039/039474.php
Deronzier dit Grollier-1 and Desrosiers-17 appear to represent the same person because: same mane and wife, note being sent to objecting manager, there is some confusion somewhere.

Deronzier dit Grollier-1 and Desrosiers-17 do not represent the same person because: someone got into my tree, even though it was private, and changed information on Antoine Desrosiers, 1590. His wife was Sophie Trou. The Antoine's may be the same but the information is incorrect
Deronzier dit Grollier-1 and Desrosiers-17 appear to represent the same person because: same man and wife and son, merge into Desrosiers-17 as 'dit' names go in other last name box
posted by Danielle Liard
Deronzier dit Grollier-1 and Desrosiers-17 are not ready to be merged because: Although the date of death is the same, there is a question of who the parents actually were. Have to read more thoroughly the provided documents

Denis: Filles du Roi and French Immigrants to Acadia are both subcategories of French Immigrants to New France, but they aren't all that goes in that category. The broader category is meant to hold everyone who migrated from France to New France.
