Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
see page 17 - says Hannah m Davis is "eldest child of John's first marriage to Ruth Dixon" (b. March 6, 1764). As Ruth died in 1764, this can't be right.
p 124, Doane Family, has Hannah as first child of John's first wife, with that first wife being Hannah Davis, married between 1752 & 1753.
I have been researching the close relationship between the Doane and Dunn families, and I have discovered some remarkable coincidences.
I have closely examined their family books, and both were in Cane Creek and Alamance, at the very same time, specifically, in 1777.
I learned, that Joseph Doane was leader of the Tory Doanes, and that he fled to Canada and changed his name, and later returned to North Carolina.
I am persuaded to believe, that Dunn-6890 may have been the son of Ruth Dixon.
I have a Ruth Unknown-320036, who fits the very same description as Ruth Dixon.
I have also traced John Ross Dunn Esq. from Anson, NC to Prince George's, MD and Cecil, PA. and very possibly, to Chester and Bucks, PA.,and before that, to Somerset, MD.
We should compare our DNA.
