Biography

Joshua Dodge Jr. was born on September 20, 1694, in North Beverly, Essex, Province of Massachusetts. Son of [Dodge-49|Joshua Dodge]] and Joanna Larkin. ^[1]He was christened at Beverly on 23 September 1694.^[2]

The intention to marry Hannah Rayment was given on April 29, 1716.^[3]> Joshua Dodge Jr married Hannah Rayment on June 14, 1716 in Beverly, Province of Massachusetts.^[4]

He passed away on December 20, 1771, in Beverly, Essex, Province of Massachusetts.^[5]

The Essex Gazette of December 23, 177 1, says: "Friday last, died here, after a lingering illness * * * Deacon Joshua Dodge. In his life every christian and social virtue was exemplified to great perfection. He had his conversation in heaven, remarkably so; he acquitted himself in his office of deacon with great fidelity to the church and honor to himself. His composure of mind in the view of death, evinced the genuineness of the principles which actuated his life.
