Biography

Elizabeth Dodson was born the 23rd January, 1801, in Halifax county, Virginia. Elizabeth is the daughter of Caleb Dodson and Elizabeth Petty.

Elizabeth married Robert Ferrell. No marriage record has been located.

Elizabeth is named in the 1832 will of her father, Caleb Dodson as follows: "In the name of God Amen I Caleb Dodson Senr of the county of Halifax and state of Virginia being old and infirm in body, but of sound mind and memory do constitute this my last will and testament . . . Item 7th I lend to my two daughters Ann Callaway and Elizabeth Ferrell the tract of land whereon Ann Calloway and my son Elijah Dodson now resides to be equally divided between them according to quantity and quality & bounded as follows . . . that which I lend to Elizabeth I then give to her children. . . .executed Given under my hand and seal this 23th day of May 1832 [signed] Caleb Dodson . . ."^[1]
