He married Francine Harding (1839-1891) ca 1867 in Maine. They had 2 children.
He (33) and Francina (age 31) lived with his parent's, Levi-63 and Betsey-76 on their farm in in 1870, Enfield, Penobscot, Maine. He was a Farm Laborer, and Fancine was taking care of their children, Eva-4, and Oliver-2, and household duties.[3]
They lived on their farm with their son Oliver-11 in 1880, in Enfield, Penobscot, Maine.[4]
His wife Francine passed away June 30, 1891 in Enfield, Penobscot, Maine.
Ellis married Annie M (McKenney) Messer on October 30, 1896 in Passadumkeag, , Maine.[5]
Annie (age 54) and Ellis (age 63) lived in Enfield, Penobscott, Maine in 1900, where he worked as a Day Laborer.[6]
At age 72, Ellis was living with his widowed son's wife Addie Dyer in Enfield, Penobscot, Maine.[7]
Annie died at age 68, on January 18, 1912 in Enfield, Penobscot, Maine.[8]
