Napthali Dyer III was born on 25 Aug 1795 in Truro, Barnstable, Massachusetts, United States, son of Napthali Dyer Jr. (1770 - 1797) and Delilah (Swett) Bicknell (1774 - ).
His siblings were:

- Eliza (Bicknell) Rich (1805 - 1869)
Napthali (23) married Reliance P. Knight (21) (1797 - 1870) on 19 May 1819 in Truro.[1] Their children were:
- Delia Swett (Dyer) McDonald (1823 - 1872)
- Angelina Rider (Dyer) Freeman (1827 - 1859)
- Reliance Priscilla Dyer (1829 - )
- Hannah Freeman Dyer (1832 - ).
Napthali died on 8 Nov 1833 in Truro aged 38. He is buried in Truro Snow Cemetery [2].
