Biography

William Dyer, referred to as William the younger was born in Truro 27 Mar 1715. He was baptized Mar 11 1727/28 also in Truro.[1]

The terminal "Junissimus" appears to have been used, in this case as in the date of birth of his father, to represent the third generation, since his aged grandfather, was then living.[1]

He was married 6 Nov 1735 Elizabeth. This was also the date of his sister's (Hannah) wedding to Timothy Eldridge.[2]

In a list of admissions to the church in Truro, April 3, 1737 a record was added "Dismist Sep 12 1743. to Falmouth in Casco Bay." There is little mention of William in Falmouth. He was living there in 1757 when he signed for his son Levi's enlistment. Three children were recorded in Truto, the others were probably born in Falmouth but not recorded.[2]

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:
