Biography

Frances America Amelia Dyer was born on 9 June 1830 in New Sharon, Franklin, Maine. She was the daughter of Christopher Dyer and Susan (Gordon) Dyer.[1][2]

She married George Wingate Chase on December 29, 1849, in New Sharon, , Maine.[3] The couple had 5 children.

  1. Charles H Chase (1851-1922)[4][5]
  2. Abby Matilda Chase (1853-1872)[4][5]
  3. Sarah Ann Chase (1861-1928)[5]
  4. George Tappan Chase (1864-bef 1867)
  5. George W Chase (1867-1902)[5]

They lived with his parent's in 1850, in Haverhill, Essex, Massachusetts, where he was a Shoe Cutter.[6]

In 1860, they were living in Haverhill, Essex, Massachusetts with their first 2 children, Charles-10, and Abby-9, where George was an Author.[4]

Her husband George Wingate passed away on August 13, 1867, in Haverhill, Massachusetts, at the age of 41. They had been married 17 years.

In 1870, Francis (age about 40) and widowed was living in Hillsdale, Winona, Minnesota, where she was keeping the home and children, Charles-19, who was farming, Abby-17, Sarah-9, and George-3.[5]

At age 48, she was living in Portland, Cumberland, Maine in 1880, with her daughter, Sarah-19, a type setter, and son George W.-12, in School.[7]

At age 71, she was lliving with her Daughter Sarah in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts.[8]

Frances died at the age of 79, on May 8, 1910, in Boston, Massachusetts.[9][10]
