Cyrus/Silas F Dyer was born ca 1834-36 in Maine. He was the son of Silas Dyer and Thankful Blake.
At about age 16, (listed as Cyrus on the 1850 Census) he was in his parent's home in Freeport, Cumberland, Maine, along with his siblings.[1]
His family moved from Maine to Illinois. In 1860, Sylas (age about 24) was with the family in Kendall, Kendall, Illinois, where he was farming.[2]
