Biography

Jane Colby Dyer was born on 4 April 1815^[1] in Thorndike, Waldo, Maine.^[2] She was the daughter of George Dyer and Antiope (Pattee) Dyer.^[3]

She married Joseph Chase (1804-1876) on July 4, 1841 in Bangor, Penobscot, Maine.^[4] They had 3 children.

1. Ester Harriet (Chase) Hulse (1842-1876)
2. George Colby Chase (1844-1919)^[5]
3. Joseph Aubrey Chase (1854-1938)

They made their home in Unity, Waldo, Maine. In 1850, Jane (age 35) and Joseph (age 45) lived on a Farm in Unity, Waldo, Maine where at By this time they had their first 2 children, Ester-8, amd George-6. ^[6]

By 1860, their youngest Joseph Aubrey-6, had been born and was in the home along with the other children.^[7]

Her husband Joseph passed away on September 24, 1876, in Unity, Maine, at the age of 71. They had been married 35 years. Her daughter Ester passed away the same fall.

In 1880, as a Widow she lived with her son George and familu in Lewiston, Androcoggin, Maine.^[8]

Jane died on August 19, 1887, at the age of 72 and was buried in the Pond Cemetery 1 in Unity, Waldo, Maine.^[1]
