Biography
Capt. Reuben Dyer served with 6th Lincoln County Regiment, Massachusetts Militia during the American Revolution.

Henry4 Dyer, in his deposition regarding the settlement at Steuben, states that "Reuben Dyer, a son of my brother Reuben, also settled there." In 1777, "Captain Reuben Dyer" served at Machias, and in the expedition against St. John, N. B. This Reuben5 Dyer died about 1778, in Steuben, according to the deposition of the only child of whom we have knowledge. (Descendants of Edward Small)

Machias; also in Capt. Reuben Dyer's Co. were Jonas (also called Jones) Dyer of Machias, Reuben Dyer Jr. of Machias, James Dyer of Machias.
