Biography

Peter was born about 1747. Peter Earl ... He passed away in 1819. [1]

The following excerpt was taken from one of the many family histories. I haven't found which one yet but I came across it while researching Peter Earl. I will post the source link in the sources.

12. PETER5 EARL, (John4, William3, Ralph2-1), was born ca. 1748 at Beekman and m. ca. 1765-70 Elizabeth, dau. of John and Hannah (Holly) Bull, who was born ca. 1752 at Hamptonbourgh, NY. He was of Orange County in 1775 when he was a signer of the Committee of Safety and Observation in Cornwell Precinct. He also was a signer of a petition for Smith’s Cove to be made into a Military Post in 1778. In 1790 he was in New Cornwall town at 1-2-7 between Samuel Lewis and William Miller.

Peter Earll of the Town of Monroe wrote his will 17 June 1818 and it was probated 7 March 1819. He mentioned his wife Lois and sons Elam, Daniel, Ezra and John and daughters Rachel Payne, Hannah Payne, Nancy Knowlton, Polly Weeks, Elizabeth Galloway, Sally Earll, Martha Mapes, Susannah Earll and Charity Cornell. He also noted gr.-child Ithamar Bloomer. Executors were the widow Lois Earll, Joseph R. Andrews and Daniel Earll. [OCW F:276]. Peter Earl had written an earlier will dated 11 April 1808 which was not recorded and not proved. [Orange Co. Wills].

He died at Highland Mills, Orange County, NY 15 March 1819. His first wife died there 2 Feb. 1794 and his second wife, Lois Clark, died before 1875 when Peter Earl’s estate was settled.

(Notes of Doris Douglas - We cited Doris Douglas as source of information on Peter, b. 1796; , son of Peter5, (John4, William3, Ralph2-1), Earl. Doris has stated that she never made the claim that Peter5 was son of Peter4. She has posted queries looking for proof of his parentage).

There seems to be some disagreement that Peter b.1796 was not the son of Peter Earl and Lois Clark. I haven't done the research to find this out.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Peter by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Peter:
