Biography
Asa East was born in 1774, in Halifax county, North Carolina, a son of Joseph Cannon East and Martha Cockerman. Asa married Mary Jensey and Elizabeth Davenport, and became the father of children, born in Stokes county, North Carolina (established in 1789):
Heinrick Thomas East, born August 13, 1795, died 1859, in Lincoln county, Missouri, married Frances Mary Welty, January 1, 1820, in Kentucky
Sarah "Sally" East, born July 22, 1796, died November 21, 1867, in Lincoln county, Missouri, married William James Hiler, after 1816, in Kentucky
Larkin East, born circa 1800, died in 1865, in Missouri, married Mary Payton, on November 14, 1827, in Barren county, Kentucky [1]
Nancy East, born 1804
Asa East, Jr. born 1808, died January 15, 1863, in a Regimental Hospital, during the American Civil War
Ann Rebecca East, born March 7, 1808, died circa 1890, in Illinois, married James E. Wooten
