This profile is a collaborative work-in-progress. Can you contribute information or sources?
No original source records have been located to confirm birth, marriage or death records. It appears that some erroneous information may have been published, and republished/reported, making the “actual facts” obscure.
There is a great deal of conflicting information – Several Source-to-Source discrepancies; co-mingling, Lack of records; conflicting family stories; number of same names, No Middle Names Verified, etc.
↑ According to an article in the William & Mary College Quarterly Historical Magazine, Vol. XV (Oct. 1906) (reprinted in Genealogies of Virginia Families, Vol. II (Gen. Pub. Co. 1982), p.252), John Edwards, (the son mentioned in John Edwards' will), "probably settled in North Carolina" but no further explanation is given. The same article states that John Edwards who died in 1713 in Brunswick Co., VA, was the son of William Edwards (c.1615-c.1673) of Surry Co., VA.

Hi Sean, thank you so much for your very informative email re William Edwards (1615-1673) https://www.WikiTree.com/wiki/Edwards-3764 and presumed spouse
Dorothy (1616 - abt. 1673) (possibly Withers https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Withers-493; + 3 Contemporay Doorothy's spouses of a UK William Edwards-- Bolton; Loader and Cutler). I apologize for my delay in responding due to other Family commitments this month; but do appreciate your time and efforts.
I would like to suggest that we combine our research to see if we can finalize this group as much as possible (and invite other PM's to join in if interested).
FYI - Several years ago I did find a Withers family located in Old Parish Registers (OPR's) for Hagley Hall and Hopton Castle/North Petherton/Glamorgan Wales; but no marriage info (records were very fragmented; so possible loss/etc or marriage vs maiden names; although it did lend circumstantial evidence to Anthony Christensen's Research re William (1615-1673) of Jamestown https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/458981?availability=Family%20History%20Library.
(My research -- concurs with 3+ children + your comments and a prelim Wiki Review looks like some merges (date/place errors) may be in order here to get the 1 Profile Per Person objective in place.
Again, Thank You and let me know what you think or find out.
Regards, Sandy
