Jonathon, known as John, was born in 1847. He was the son of William Ensor and Naomi Huddleston. He lived with his parents and siblings in Jackson, Tennessee in 1850[1] and in Putnam, Tennessee in 1860.[2]
John married Sarah Frances Evans about 1867.[citation needed] They had seven children. They lived in Grainger, Tennessee in 1870[3] and in Putnam, Tennessee in 1880.[4]
Sarah passed away in 1882. John married Frances Caledonia Bryant about 1885.[citation needed] They had two children.
Frances passed away in 1887. John married Rhoda Almeda Bryant about 1887.[citation needed] They had ten children. They lived in Putnam, Tennessee in 1900,[5] 1910[6] and 1920.[7]
His obituary in the Cookeville Press described him as a highly respected farmer and citizen who had held the office of County Court Clerk during the 1890s. It listed those of his children who were still living.[9]
