The March 27, 1915 issue of the "Collinsville Star" reports that "Mrs. Mary Black stopped over here a couple of days to visit her brother and sister, P.M. Eyler and Mrs. F.R. Evans. She was on her way from Omaha, Nebraska to visit her sons down at Welettka, Oklahoma. She says the snow was about a foot deep at Omaha, when she left the first of the week."
In 1920, Mary is living in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska.
Mary died in Omaha, Nebraska at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nellie Hill at 4912 Erskine Street. Mary was survived by her husband, 2 daughters and 2 sons. Funeral services were from Moore's Benson Funeral Home and burial was at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Information from the funeral home states that Mary Margaret Black had a sister, Mrs. C.A. Spring, living at 2539 N. 63rd in Omaha in 1925. Could Mrs. Spring actually be her half sister, Mary Elizabeth Eyler?. The 1925 Omaha city directory shows a Carl A. Spring, a salesman living at that address. The 1920 census shows Carl's wife as Martha, age 35, born in Nebraska. Mary Elizabeth Eyler was born in 1860.
