Levi was born in 1853. I find him in the 1860 census at the age of 7, living in Rocheport, Boone, Missouri - a town that even in our modern day has a population of a whopping 242 (as of 2011)! We then see Levi again, living an apparently normal life with his parents and siblings a decade later in Powskick Township, Jasper County, Iowa.
I was excited to come across a wonderful little website that has stories about the History of Adair County, Iowa, and find a story about Levi and the mark he left on the world. He was a settler, farmer, and school director; brother, husband, father and friend. He passed away in 1928.
