Biography

Sir John Ferrers MP was the eldest son and heir apparent of Sir Thomas Ferrers of Tamworth Castle. He married Maud daughter of Sir John Stanley MP of Elford, Staffordshire. He was MP for Staffordshire in 1478 and JP for Staffordshire from 1480 to 1483, when he was removed by Richard III.[1]

He probably died in 1484; he was certainly dead before 1490 when his widow arranged for the marriage of their daughter Elizabeth to William Chetwynd of Ingestre, Staffordshire.[2]
