Hypothesis. The Susannah Finch who married Thomas Collbreath does not appear to be the same Susannah who married Abraham Lockwood because the date of death of Thomas in 1799 is after Susannah's marriage date to Abraham in 1791. In addition, the Susannah who married Thomas does not seem to be the daughter of James Finch and Abigail Seeley because Thummel (1965) identified their daughter as the bride who married Abraham Lockwood.
An alternative hypothesis is that Susannah actually did marry Thomas and later married or partnered with Alexander, leaving Thomas before his death in 1798. Susannah apparently did not have any children with Thomas between the birth of a son named Thomas in 1788 and the birth of a daughter named Milicent Collbreath in 1797, a gap of 9 years. Assuming Susannah's daughter Milecent Collbreath was the daughter of Thomas Collbreath, then Susannah may have returned to Thomas in time to have Milicent.
What is your hypothesis? Or, do you have better information?
