Nathan Sands Fish, born 11 Apr 1828 at Groton, Connecticut, was the second child of Eliza Roe (Randall) Fish (1803-1872) and Simeon Fish (1797-1863)[1],[2]. The location of his birth is uncertain; whereas his grave memorial presents Stonington, the transcribed official record presents Groton, Connecticut. The locations being geographically close, either is plausible.
An account of his life which later appeared verbatim in the Fish genealogy (1948) was taken from an 1898 publication [3], here transcribed:
2061 NATHAN SANDS9 FISH (Simeon8, Sands7, Nathan6, Nathan5, Samuel4, John3, Alice2, John1), son of (1987) Simeon and Eliza R. (Randall) Fish, was b. at Groton, Conn., Apr. 1828; d. in the Masonic Home at Wallingford, Conn., Oct. 8, 1915, at 87. He m. Jennette Morgan, dau. of Elisha and Caroline (Morgan) Morgan. He was in the grocery business for many years, starting with his father; lived for a time at Poquonoc, Conn.
Nathan Sands Fish married 22 Apr 1850, Jennette E. Morgan [4]. Their children were [5]:
