1989 CHARLES8 FISH (Sands7, Nathan6, Nathan5, Samuel4, John3, Alice2, John1), ship's officer and teacher, son of (1885) Sands and Bridget (Gallup) Fish, was b. Feb. 3, 1801, at Groton, Conn.; d. Aug. 17, 1845. He was a sailor and ship's officer, hatter and school teacher; a member of the Methodist Church, kind and easygoing. He m. Esther B. Williams, dau. of Nicholas E. and Lucretia Williams, Apr. 10, 1822 [3]. She was b. Feb. 12, 1803; d. Sept. 20, 1889.
This Charles Fish died 17 Aug 1845. His grave is in Fish Cemetery #18, Mystic, New London County, Connecticut, USA [4].

Observe care not to confuse this person with Charles Fish [d. 12 Feb 1876] of Tolland County, Connecticut, who married Esther Trowbridge (1794–1875), and who probably was not related to the Fish families of Groton, New London County, Connecticut. Their grave memorials are in East Cemetery, Tolland, Tolland County, Connecticut, USA [5],[6].
