I thank dad for not treating me any different than Roy, my brother, when it came to fishing, hunting birds or deer, and adventures that were reserved for the 'guys'. Today, all the above are still life time sports that I am extremely skilled at. Too, today, I am a Federal Firearms instructor.
I never got to dance with Dad! I would have liked to have had my first dance with my father.
I was direct commissioned a first lieutenant 1976, in the Women's Army Corp as I didn't want to ever say, I wish I had done it, I wonder what it would have been like. Best decision, I ever made as I followed my heart as I knew that Dad would have wanted me to do that.
As I have gotten older, I realize what a wise man Dad was, even though he could barely read a comic book. :-)
