Biography

Noah was born about 1763. Noah Flood first married Sallie Word in 1784. His second wife was Sarah Fuqua. They married in 1785. He passed away in 1818.

According to real estate records, Noah and Sallie had at least one child, John Flood of Noah". It is believed that Noah and second wife, Sarah, had one son named Daniel Flood who married Ann L. Coleman, daughter of Julius and Elizabeth Coleman.

Noah's birth date is taken from his family Bible, and his death date was obtained from his widow's application for a pension. The real estate tax records for Buckingham County suggest that Noah died in 1818. His widow, Sarah, stated that the year of death was 1819. His brother, Moses Flood, stated that the year of death was 1815, obviously from a faulty memory. See, also The Charltons of Buckingham County, Virginia, by Elizabeth Jane (Dunkum) Charlton, 1990, page 257. (note 10 from Waltons of Old Virginia, page 441)
