Biography
The parents of Gawen [pronounced Gavin] Mitford's wife are Thomas Forster and Jane Hilton.[1]
Mosley (2003) and Collins & Brydges (1812) states that Gawen Mitford married a Forster whose given name is unknown [as per the 1666 Visitations.]. The latter states her father was Thos. of Etherstone [Adderstone]; Mosley (2003), says unknown.[2] She is called "Margaret", in the pedigree of Forster of Adderstone.[3]
The Visitations of Northumberland 1615,[4], and Collins & Brydges (1812), identify her as the sister of a Thomas Forster of Etherstone[3] Foster (1871), asserts she is the daughter of Jane Hilton (?b. between 1439-58) and Thomas Forster of Adderstone.[5]
m. Gawen Mitford of Mitford (living 1518; d.1550), son of Bertram Mitford of Mitford and Margaret Lisle, of the Felton family. Issue:
