Phineas Foster was b at Machias, 28 Mar 1796, son of Moses and Drusilla (West> Foster; d Marion Township, 15 Oct 1871, ae 75y; m (1) Ruth Rich at Machias, 25 Mar 1818, m (2) 1828 [probably at East Machias], Mary Coffin Foster, daughter of Abijah and Apphia (Talbot) Foster. ^[1]
