Could this be the James Freeman who moved to Warren County Tennessee before the 1820 census with 8 children. On FamilySearch, it shows a wife Martha Watford and three named children, William b 1794, Martha Elizabeth, b. 1809, and George, b. 1810. I think my ancestor Winifred Freeman b. 1800 in NC is also a daughter. Several matches on FTDNA seem to support this, and Winifred's husband Solomon Davis is in land transactions with James and William Freeman in Warren County, TN, in 1820s.
