Biography

Betty Freeman was born in 1729. She married Benjamin Chipman, the son of Jonathan Chipman and his second wife. The couple had six children: Mary (b. April 1759), John (b. 16 May 1761), Hatsuld (b. 16 Jul 1763), Hannah (b. 23 Jan 1766), Benjamin (b. 6 May 1768), and Stephen (b. 9 Jan 1771).[1] Betty was also the step-mother of Abigail, Benjamin's daughter by his first wife.
