Varsel Fuller served with 13th Regiment, Albany County Militia, New York Militia during the American Revolution.

Varsel Fuller was born on February 23, 1755, in Amenia, New York, to Josiah Fuller and Irene Dickenson. He married Mary Crowell on June 17, 1776, in Stillwater, New York. He served as a soldier in the American Revolution. He died on August 27, 1834, in Fort Edward, Washington, New York, having lived a long life of 79 years.

Served in Revolutionary War: At the time he served in the Rev. War, he was living in New Concord, Columbia County, NY (then in Albany Co.) He also lived in Stillwater, Saratoga Co. New York, Fort Miller, Washington Co, NY and at the time he applied for his pension in 1832, at 77 years old, he was living in Queensbury, Warren County, NY. He had a brother named Josiah who was born in 1766 and testified he was 67 in 1833. [2]

Deposition regarding war service and family:

"County of Wayne State of New York: Personaly appears before this subscriber a justice of the peace in and for Said County Thomas Rennals of the town of Lyons in Said County age [or aged] ninty one years. after being duly Sworn according to law deposith and saith that for the last Forty five years he has been personally acquainted with VARSEL FULLER late a soldier in the war of the Revolution and a Pensioner of the United States: And with his present widow MARY FULLER and this(?) Family: That this(?) said MARY FULLER who is applying for a pension as the widow of the said Varsel FULLER, is the identical person and widow of the said VARSEL FULLER, the late pensioner of the United States: That this is the identical person that was his wife of said VARSEL FULLER at the first acquaintance of this deponent. This deponent is confident that his acquaintance with said family of VARSEL FULLER commenced before the year Eighteen hundred - That at the time of his first acquaintance with said family he will recollect that their oldest child named was MARY - That she was at that time a full grown woman. Thinks she must have been nineteen or twenty years old. That she has since married a man by the name of BRAMAN. That their next child named was CORNELIUS who was two or three years younger than MARY. That the present applicant widow MARY FULLER has from the first acquaintance of this deponent been considered and believed to be the wife of the above named VARSEL FULLER, and the above named MARY and CORNELIUS has been and still are considered children of the above named VARSEL FULLER and the person applicant widow MARY FULLER. This deponent further asaith(?) and saith that his acquaintance with said Family commenced in the town of Argyle, Washington County, State of New York; That the understood(?) by this said VARSEL FULLER, (inserted above what looks like 'Mrs.') they(?) had formerly lived in the town of Stilwater, Saratoga Co., where he was married. That the said VARSEL FULLER died sometime in the year 1834 that his widow had not since remarried but remains a widow. Signed, Thomas X Rennels [possibly spelled Reynolds or Runnels?]"[3]
