He was buried on the Gaines property a short distance from the Stage Coach Road. The old Gaines-Clardy family cemetery is located between the residence of Benjamin L. and Mary Martin residence and the Christian Hope Church. In Oct. 1993 the old cemetery was read and said to contain about 24 sunken graves marked by field stones or no makers at all. One standing memorial stone was for Henry Gaines....

This is a replacement stone done in 1918 by the Gaines family. The cemetery is on the property of Don Jackson, who bought it from the Martin's. The cemetery had about 25 graves in it but no stones remain except the ones replaced in 1918.

At current time wikitree has siblings [Gaines-77|William Henry Gaines] (1705-1796) and [Gaines-913|Henry William Gaines] (1731-1796) both married to Mariah Woods (Henry b1731 links her as spouse, William b1705 calls her spouse in bio). Could someone untangle these two?

Gaines-1938 and Gaines-913 appear to represent the same person because: sane dates, Gaines-913 was incorrectly removed as the father creating a broken ancestry. Please approve this merge.
