NOTE
Moses was a shoemaker according to the New England Historical and Genealogical Register, Vol. 147, Page 368. He moved his family to Troy, Maine in 1825. He appears in the tax lists there until the year 1835 on the same land. On 10 Aug 1831 he bought 25 acres from John Rogers which he sold in 1836 to James S. Bennett. After this sale, he moved to St. Albans, Somerset County, Maine. He held a few offices in his earlier years in Troy; constable in 1827, field driver in 1834, and fence viewer in 1839 after he had returned to Troy in 1838. In 1860 he was again constable.
