Elizabeth was born about 1800 probably in Sumner County, Tennessee. She is the daughter of James Gardner and Mary Blackwood. She is named as "youngest daughter" in the will of her father dated 11 July 1803 in Sumner County, Tennessee.

Elizabeth married Isaac W Perry in May 1823, Sumner County, Tennessee.
