James Garner Jr. was born a twin on 01 Oct 1754 in Randolph, Orange County, North Carolina [1] and his parents were Elizabeth (Freeman) and James Garner.

James passed away on 15 Jun 1843 in Asheboro, Randolph County, North Carolina, USA and his estate was probated there. [5] [6]

On 08 Jan 1855, Dolphin Gardner, of Randolph County, North Carolina, USA, gave a power of attorney to John T. Neely of Washington City, DC to pursue any claims he might have as the heir of Elizabeth and James Gardner, based on the services of his father in the American Revolutionary War.

Gardner-2770 and Garner-1777 appear to represent the same person because: They share the same spouse, DOB and DOD. This is a clear duplicate. Please merge into Garner-1777 as Garner is the LN of father listed. In the Other Last Name field, please include Gardner. Thanks for all of your help keeping WikiTree tidy!
