Ephraim was the son of Miles and Ellen (Helena) Garthwaite.[1] Ephraim was baptised on 18 May 1600 in Fulbeck, Lincolnshire, England.[2]
He was educated at Brazenose College, Oxford (28 Jan 1619-1620), B.A. (8 Feb 1620-1621), and M.A. (25 Jun 1623). Ephraim became rector of the parish of Barkstone, Lincolnshire.
Ephraim married firstly Anne Dixon in 1623 in Lincolnshire, England.[3] The marriage licence noted that Ephraim was an MA, residing in Fulbecke and Ann, a spinster of Rawston.
Ephraim Garthwaite married secondly widow Doroth Bunworth on 1 February 1631 in Folkingham, Lincolnshire, England.[4]
