Lewis Russell Gay is listed on the 1850 Federal Census for Harrison County Mo. Harrison Co was created from Daviess Co in 1845, so for the 1830 and 1840 Censuses, see Daviess Co. Also, note that his sister, Jane Gay and her husband John Williams, also moved to Daviess County. He is listed on the 1860 and 1870 Mercer county Federal Census. All these counties are located next to each other in northwest Missouri.
