Obituary
Rosellen Jiles Parker passed peacefully on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home. Rosellen Jiles Parker was born June 15, 1918, in Galveston to Dewey Vernon Jiles of Cleburne and Rosalie Clark Jiles of Galveston. She grew up in Cleburne where she made lifelong friends and cared for her brothers and sisters. Rosellen's stories about her childhood in Cleburne, the best place to grow up she'd always say, could make anyone laugh and long for days past. William R. Parker, "Bill," met his sweetheart, "Rosie," in Cleburne and they were married Sept. 12, 1939. They moved to Fort Worth where they reared their children, made more friends and traveled throughout the state. Bill predeceased Rosellen on Jan. 5, 2003, after 63 years of marriage. To have known Rosellen, you would know you were always welcome in her home. She was a lady of integrity, showing mercy and equality to everyone she met and putting them before herself. She had a beautiful, quick, infectious and quiet laugh that endeared her to her family and friends even more. Survivors: Brothers, Jeff Jiles of Arlington and Randy Jiles of Cleburne; sister, Janice Colley; son, Bill Parker Jr. and wife, Pat; daughter, Sue Yowell and husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Christie Newman and husband, Mike, Clay Yowell, Rhonda Baugh and husband, Tim, Robin Roberts, Bill Parker III and wife, Melody; and 13 great-grandchildren, all of whom rejoice in Rosellen's eternal life in heaven.
