COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - Donald Monroe Giles, 73, died Thursday, March30,
2006.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Evergreen Funeral Home Chapel.Graveside
services will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Donald Monroe Giles, 73, of Colorado Springs, Colo., went home to bewith his
Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 30, 2006, in Colorado Springs.
He was born Oct. 27, 1932, in Amarillo, Texas, to Clarence and MaudeAustin
Giles. Donald served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps; he also workedas a
Civil Service worker at Fort Carson. He has been a resident of Colorado
Springs since 1977, having moved from Georgia. He is also a member ofAmerican
Legion. He married Janet Rice on May 20, 1972, in San Antonio, Texas.
Survivors include his wife; his children, Donald M. Giles Jr. andwife Cindy
of Seattle, William L. Giles and wife Margaret Ann of Houston, Vicki Lynn
Loomis and husband Byron of Seward, Alaska, and Dina Marie Giles ofLakeport,
Calif.; a stepson, Steven David Corry of Jensen Beach, Fla.; 13grandchildren;
and five sisters, Estelle Ray and husband LeeRoy and Judy Van Nay andhusband
Jerry of Amarillo, Sarah Brennenstuhl and husband Bob of Evergreen,Pauline
Hooper of Phoenix and Martha McBride of Las Vegas.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral homechapel.
