Biography

Josiah Goddard was the son of William and Elizabeth (Miles) Goddard. (p. 242) [1] He married at Watertown, Rachel Davis, daughter of William and Jane Davis. [2] Their son Josiah was born July 12, 1701 at Watertown and baptized there on July 13, 1701. [3]

Josiah married Oct. 15, 1730, Mary Bigelow of Newton, daughter of Thomas and Mary (Livermore ) Bigelow. She was born Sept. 12, 1707 at Marlborough, MA. (p. 238; p. 33) [4](p. 38) [5] He died Oct. 21, 1758 at Newton and was buried in the Center Street Cemetery. (p. 165) [6] He was a Selectman in 1758 at Newton. (p. 293/4) [7] After his death his widow married Oct. 1759, Ebenezer Parker as his third wife. (p. 164) [6]
