Hannah was born in Wells, York, Maine about 1706. She was the daughter of Zachariah Goodale, who had moved to Wells from Salem Massachusetts in 1699, and his wife Elizabeth (Cousins) Goodale.[1] Hannah married Nathaniel Harmon in Scarborough, Cumberland, Maine on November 30, 1727.[2][3][4] The couple were baptized as adults on August 16, 1730 at the First Congregational Church of Scarborough.[5] Hannah was buried on October 7, 1758.[6][7]

But Davis (pp. 33-44) fully lays out the first several generations of Goodales in New England. Davis's list includes 5 Hannah Goodales born between 1695 and 1720, but all of them have other husbands accounted for and Zachariah’s is the only branch of the Goodale family to have moved to Maine at that time.

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Hannah by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.

Samuel Harmon and Nathaniel Harmon [husband of this Hannah] were both sons of John Harmon and Sarah Roberts. It would seem that each of these sons had a daughter named Elizabeth. There is uncertainty as to which Elizabeth married Edward Milliken and which Elizabeth married Samuel Brian or Bryant.
