Biography

David Goodrich was born on May 4, 1667 in Wethersfield, Hartford, Connecticut, son of William Goodrich (<1622–<1676) and Sarah Marvin (<1631–~1701).[1]

David (20) married Hannah Wright (17) (born on March 10, 1670 in Wethersfield; daughter of Thomas Wright Jr. and Elizabeth (Chittenden) Wright) about March 7, 1688 in Wethersfield.[2][3][4] Their children were:

  1. Josiah Goodrich (1690–1731)
  2. Elizabeth Goodrich (1691–1726)
  3. Elizur Goodrich (1693–1774)
  4. David Goodrich (1694–1785)
  5. Abigail Goodrich (1697–1712)

Hannah died in 1698.[5]

David (31) married Prudence Churchill (20) (born on July 2, 1678 in Wethersfield; daughter of Benjamin Churchill and Mary (Unknown) Churchill) on December 1, 1698 in Wethersfield, Conn.[3][4][6] Their children were:

  1. Hezekial Goodrich (1700–1732)
  2. Prudence Goodrich (1701–1783)
  3. Sarah Goodrich (~1702–1784)
  4. Mary Goodrich (1704–1740)
  5. Hannah Goodrich (1707–1773)
  6. Jeremiah Goodrich (1709–1793)

  9. Benjamin Goodrich (1715–1797)
  10. Abigail Goodrich (1718–>1756)
  11. Charles Goodrich (~1720–1816)
  12. Millicent Goodrich (1723–1751)

David died on January 23, 1755 in Wethersfield, aged 87, and is buried at the Wethersfield Village Cemetery in Wethersfield.[7] David was called Col. in the Goodrich Family[1] and Captain on his gravestone. There are two stones for David. You can see a picture of his gravestones at his FindAGrave Memorial.[8] One shows that he was a Captain in Col. Whitney's Regiment in Queen Anne's War. He died at the age of 87; while the other says that he was a Captain in North Company during the Indian War.
