Edward inherited two parcels of land at Upper Colo from his father, one parcel was a 40 acre property known as "Flat Rock Farm", the other was 50 acres adjoining "Flat Rock". These farms were sold to his brother in law, George Boyter, in 1865. At the time, Edward was recorded as a Drover living at Denman.
On his Death Certificate Edward's occupation was given as a farmer, fruit dealer and old age pensioner. When his estate was administered (he died intestate) he is recorded as a homestead selector.
Edward died from stroke and is buried in an unmarked grave in the Merriwa Church of England Cemetery.
