Notes
There is no documentary evidence that John Goss was her father, and the lapse of that much time between her conception -- October 1809 to November 1816 -- and her mother's marriage suggest it is unlikely, although not impossible. The record of The Bowmer/Boomer family calls her Caroline Dyer, not Caroline Goss. Perhaps DNA from descendants could provide proof, but the paper trail does no support it.
