Biography

Jane was born 20 Sep 1802 in Gorham, Cumberland, now Maine, the daughter of Nathaniel Gould and Elizabeth McLellan.

She married the Rev. Asa Mead, a Congregational minister, on 9 May 1825 in Gorham, Maine.

They were the parents of three known children:

1. John Mooney Mead b. 4 May 1826 at Brunswick, Maine, d. 8 Apr 1831 at East Hartford, Connecticut
2. Maria Allen Mead b. 23 Jun 1828 at Gorham, Maine, d. 9 May 1904 at San Francisco, California
3. Isabella Mead b. Oct 1830 at Brunswick, Maine, d. 24 Jun 1870 at Oakland, California

Jane died on 2 Sep 1893 in Buffalo, NY where she is buried at the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
