In the above 1766 order book reference all of the names bolded move to Wilkes Co NC except Jno Mitchell and Thomas Mitchell, my ancestors. Thomas Elliott was the brother of Sarah Ann Elliott Greer. Isaac Low was married to John Mitchell's sister Sarah. John Mitchell's mother was Elizabeth Ann Elliott, (ST john's Parish record, Baltimore Maryland.) In 1765 when John Greer gifts John Mitchell, he does not have a wife. Sarah Ann Elliott Greer is presumed deceased at this time. It appears John Greer and wife "Ann" were in Bedford Co VA from about 1754 until 1765 when John Greer gifts John Mitchell and does not have a wife. Sarah Ann Elliott Greer is presumed deceased. In July of 1772 John Greer's wife "Ann" relinquishes dower and they moved to Wilkes Co NC. She is presumed Nancy Walker. These Mitchell families are traced from Bedford, VA into Wilkes, NC, into Barren & Warren Counties KY, into TN and are proved as matching per DNA.

Thank you for adding a DNA confirmation statement to this profile. Please read these details from the triangulation instructions which explain that you cannot mark the relationship to the MRCAs ‘confirmed with DNA’: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Triangulation#Do_you_include_the_MRCA.3F

I’ve changed the ‘confirmed with DNA’ entries on this profile to ‘confident’ for you. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

The NSDAR application is incorrect. The only John Grier in NC was born in PA and died TN.

The NSSAR number P-334614 is invalid.

Since John died in 1782 it's not likely that he served in Rev War

ps, isn't it interesting that John Greer's will was witnessed by Nancy Walker and Sarah Greer???

Betty, your connection from John Greer to Benjamin Greer appears to be in conflict with the existing record for John Greer. Which I have set to merge. It appears that you Benjamin was born 1746 but the son of John Greer born 1714-1782, Benjamin was born 1727.

Do you have any proof?

Greer-779 and Greer-1038 appear to represent the same person because: Hi, This sure look like one/the same person even though the middle initial is different, the parents/siblings/ year of death are the same

Greer-613 and Greer-1038 are not ready to be merged because: Not sure. Lot of conflicting dates and info...
