Preceded by Fulke Greville(jnr) |
6th Baroness Willoughby de Broke 30th September 1628 - 26th March 1631 |
Succeeded by Greville Verney c.1586-1642 |
Upon the death of her father (who died before his father without male issue), Elizabeth, as the eldest daughter, became de jure and suo jure [3rd] Baroness Willoughby de Broke, and also de jure Baroness Latimer. The title, however, was not assumed by any of the persons so entitled, between 1521 and 1696. She and her husband were both buried at Alcester, Warwickshire. (M.I.)[1]
A memorial "chest tomb" with effigies of her and her husband stands as a centrepiece in the since-rebuilt Verney family chapel at Compton Verney.[2]
