Frances Grey was Baptised on 19th June 1888, at Kinver, Staffordordshire, England.[1]. She was the daughter of John Grey and his wife Catherine Ward.
On the 15th January 1703 Frances married John Wrottesley, at Saint Mary`s Church, Enville, Staffordshire[2]
Frances and John had 5 sons and 5 daughters,
John born 21st September 1708, baptised at Codsell on 1st October[3], died in November 1723,
Charles born and baptised at Wrottesley on the 14th March 1718 buried at Tettenhall on 18th March 1722-3.
Sir Hugh, the 3rd son succeeded as 5th Baronet Wrottesley, but died in his minorty in 1729, when leters of administration of his effects were granted to Dame Frances Wrottesley, his mother. He was succeeded by the next brother.
Walter, 6th Baronet , Born 1716, who died a minor two years afterwards, he was buried at Tettenhall on 28th of February 1731-2[4]
Sir Richard, who succeeded as 7th Baronet 1721-1769,
Frances, the eldest daughter, was born on the 16th of October 1711, and married, first, Heigham Bendish, Esquire of East Ham, Essex, and secondly in 1756, Dr Wilkes of Willenhall, the well known Antiquary[5]She died ion 24th December 1798.
Eliabeth, 2nd daughter, born, 5th of November 1713 and married her cousin, Thomas Wrottesley, the son of Sir Walter, the thrid Baronet, by his second wife. After his death she married Francis Stuart of Wolverhampton, by whom she left issue.
Henretta, 3rd daughter was born on the 25th of November 1715, and married Theodore William Inge, Esquire of Thorpe Constantine, Staffordshire.
Dorothy or Dora, as she is named in the Codsell Parish register, was born and baptised as Wrottesley on the 8th May 1723. The Tettenhall Register records her burial on the 12th of August 1742. She is decribedas Dorothy daughter of Lady Wrottesley, of Purton. Probate of her will was granted to her mother in 1743.
Mary was born and baptised the 12th of October 1725,. She was living in 1762, at the date of death of her mother`s will, and apparently died unmarried.[6]
After the marriage of Sir Richard Wrottesley, his mother Frances, Lady Wrottesley, took up her abode at the old Manor house, at Perton, and must have lived to a very advanced age, Death 22nd March 1769[7] for the Parish Register of Tettenhall records her burial on the 1st April 1769, [8].
